Activities 2021-22 (Mermier Bal Ashram)
Women’s day
We had women’s day celebration on 8th March at Mermier Bal Ashram. There were 55 HIV/ AIDS women participating in it. Our Children from Mermier Bal Ashram were part of women’s day celebration through their mind-blowing performance. It is to make them aware of the importance of the day.and they were indeed joyful to be part of the program. Children were happy to be part of the program. Children had conversation with women to make them a happy on their special day. Children took part even in the distribution of the ration to the needy woemen. Thereby they have learnt to be compassionate to one another
We began the celebration with a short prayer by Mrs. Priyanka. Women representative lit the lamp. Women were happy to watch the culural program performed by Mermier Bal Ashram. Sr. Sabita conducted five games for the women. All of them were partaking in the games and they enjoyed the games. Prizes was given to the winners. Besides, all women were given special gifts with foodgrains along with food grains. They were provided with snacks and juice.
Counselling
Regularly we arrange counselling session for our children in Mermier Bal Ashram and Counselling indeed helps the children to be emotionally and physchologically balanced. They gain confidence in different areas of their life
Yoga
Daily yoga helps them to be active and strong in mind and body. Children are being trained in Yoga regularly
Independence day
We had Independence Day Celebration on 15th August, Br. Jaison Puthussery. msfs hoisted the flag, Children had participated in varrious competitions like indoor and outdoor games, speech and few intellectual games. Winners were given prizes and others were given Consolation prizes
Teacher’s day
Teacher’s day celebration was held in Mermier Bal Ashram. Children put up programs for the JVS staff. Program was well planned by Senior Students. They presented very good programs like dance, singing, shayaries etc. Children learnt many things by different celebration.
Mermier Ashram day
It is the foundation day of Mermier Bal Ashram and founder’s day of the Missionaries of St. Francis De Sales on 30th September. Every Year we remember on this day, the founder Fr. Francis who intiated the work for the children. We express all our gratitude to the donors and well wishers. Children have special program on this day.
Online Class
Children have regular online class. Everyone is provided with mobile accessories. Children had online classes and exams. They were were happy and proud to use mobile. In the beginning they were eager for the class; later on they didn’t have much interest for online classes. They prefer to have offline class
Tuiton Classes
Sr. Celine takes tuiton for children everyday. She is teaching them spoken English and value education. She prepares them for th different programs held in JVS
Raksha Bandhan
Raksha Bandhan is the joyful celebration of the feelings of immense love and admiration that breathes in the relationship of brother and sister. It is a sense of belonging that both for each other. Also popularly known as the festival of Rakhi, on this day our Children were tied Rakhi and gifts were given and they were pleased
Diwali
It is the festival of lights. Every Year Diwali is celebrated along with children and children decorated the house with varieties of lamps and Rangoli. We had prayer service in the evening and thereby children enjoyed the fireworks
Children’s day
On 14th November, We had the celebration of Children’s day. To make the children more vibrant and active we organized sports which included both indoor and outdoor. Indoor games are such as carrom, snake and ladder, Ludo, Memories game, word framing etc. The outdoor games are such as running race, ball and bucket. cricket, lemon and spoon etc
Christmas Bal Mela
We do enourage children to have knowledge and respect for all the religious festivals. In the eve of Christmas, we organized Bal Mela for our children of JVS. Children from three houses gathered together for first time after Pandemic. Children made beautiful crib and stars and decorated the house with varieties of things. Children performed dance, skits and songs. Games were conducted for them. All of them had taken part. All were given prizes and T shirt. Children were happy to meet Santa who brought gifts for them
Birthday Celebration
We celebrate every child’s birthday in Mermier Bal Ashram to make them happy and understand the gift of life and the creator. Cake is cut and new clothes are given to the birthday child. They feel that they are one among the family. We do share with them the importance of life
Provincial Visit
The Provincial of Pune province Fr. Jayaseelan, MSFS had visited our Children. Children welcomed him with solemn welcome song and put cultural programs. Children made his visit very meaningful and wonderful. Fr. Jayaseelan MSFS advised children to study well and become a good citizen and to make use of all the opportunity to grow better in our life
Gandhi Jayanthi
On 2nd October the nation pays homage to Mahatma Gandhi the ” Father of the Nation”. on this day we conducted essay competition on Mahatma Gandhi, there was a quiz competition too on Mahatma Gandhi. This has help them to better their knowledge on Mahatma Gandhi, Children actively participated in all the events
